Timed Assessment - In the Role of the Makeup Artist (Peer Assessment)

Billie was a very helpful designer, she clearly laid out every step of her design and explained all of the elements to me. This was really useful for me, especially as I found certain elements of her design very daunting at first.
Billie's initial design featured no eyebrows, which meant that I would have to block them out with; pritt stick, concealer and foundation. However as I have never done this technique before, I found it difficult to grasp at the beginning and after consulting with Sue who said that she preferred the look with brows, Billie made the decision to change her design. Instead of blocking out the brows she just wanted her brows to be lightened instead blocked out, which I found so much easier to do and I was glad that Billie made the decision to do this. I think that if she hadn't made the change I would've been even more nervous about the assessment and not confident in my ability to do the technique well.
One element that I did find difficult at the beginning was getting the tears right. In our first practise the tears did look slightly like sun beams, but Billie kept helping me with the technique to make sure that I could make them look as realistic as possible. Having Billie show me how exactly to get the look she wanted was extremely helpful and I think I was able to replicate it well in the assessment.

She also adapted and changed her design so that I would be able to do the elements well and in the time we had for the assessment. Furthermore she was eager for us to practise her design so that I could perfect all of the elements.
